What is life in college if you have no friends?
A bleak nothing.
I am really glad I have found a small group of friends with whom I spend most of my time in college. I even dedicated a whole entry in this diary to them. (Here).
Because A and M make my life so much simpler, life in college is a breeze. There is one special thing that really defines my relationship with A.
A and I have impeccable timing and grasp ideas and concepts at relatively the same time, every time. When there are classes going on, we are able to understand everything that’s being said at pretty much the same time. And so, we assimilate the concepts simultaneously. So, it is not uncommon for us to form the exact same doubts.
A similar situation arises frequently when we are conversing with a group of friends. There have been a number of times when the both of start thinking the exact same thing. We don’t need to say it out loud to know that we were ruminating on the same thought at the same time. A cunning smile is enough. ( 😉 )
I cannot put a number to the number of times we have blurted out the same question, at the same time, in the same words, in the same pitch and tone and in the same way. And most of the time, the lecturers and our classmates are left stunned.
We then end up looking at each other and laughing in spite of ourselves. Its moments like those that make us want to say, “We’re twinning! Up top, Gimme five!”
